1. Who we are

TranscribeNow is a Chrome extension that records and transcribes browser audio in real time. We are operated by ASODigital85. You can contact us at support@transcribenow.app.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Email address — collected when you first open the extension. Used solely to identify your subscription status via our payment processor (Stripe). Stored locally on your device.
• Subscription status — your plan tier (Free, Pro or Team) is stored locally and verified against Stripe when you open the extension.
• Usage data — monthly transcription minutes used are counted and stored locally in your browser only. This data never leaves your device.
• Transcripts — saved transcripts are stored locally in Chrome storage on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.

3. What we do NOT collect

• We do not record, store or upload your audio to any server
• We do not store your transcripts on our servers
• We do not collect browsing history or web activity
• We do not use tracking pixels, analytics SDKs or advertising networks
• We do not sell your data to any third party
• We do not collect payment card information (handled entirely by Stripe)

4. How speech recognition works

TranscribeNow uses the Web Speech API built into Google Chrome. When you record, your audio is processed by Chrome's speech recognition service (operated by Google) to generate text. This is the same service used by Chrome's built-in dictation feature. We do not have access to this audio stream and it is not stored by us. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information about how Chrome handles speech recognition data.

5. Payment processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your credit card information. When you upgrade to Pro or Team, your email address is shared with Stripe to create a customer record and manage your subscription. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

6. Data stored on your device

The following data is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage on your device only:

• Your email address
• Your subscription tier and cached status
• Monthly usage minutes counter
• Saved transcripts (up to 50)
• Extension settings (language, timestamps, auto-save preferences)

You can clear all this data at any time by going to chrome://extensions → TranscribeNow → Clear storage or by removing the extension.

7. Data sharing

We share your email address with Stripe solely for subscription management purposes. We do not share your data with any other third party. We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core function.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal inside the extension
• Remove the extension and all associated local data at any time

9. Children's privacy

TranscribeNow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
